Rhinestone Tiger Amigurumi

Hello! This time we made a rhinestone tiger amigurumi! It took forever to glue on all the rhinestones one by one...I'm not sure if I want to do it again, but it came out okay I guess. I'll probably end up doing another one in the future...sometime.

Anyone interested in seeing a little bit more, you're more than welcome to visit! Thank you!!!
http://www.cuteamigurumi.com

May/June ami-along

Welcome, dear fellow craftsters, to yet another

As the months roll by, the seasons change, too. To honor this, our monthly theme is SUMMER FOODS! Let's have a look at what yummies we can yarnify in these hot, hot months.
As always, click on the pics to get to the patterns (not all of them are free, but I tried my best to find you some). Now, on to the fun!

ice cream

popsicles

sodas (not amigurumi,but cute)

hamburgers

hot dogs :D

corn dogs

watermelon

and the additional seasonal cookies

Or any food, really. there's no real rush to make it summer-y, but hopefully with the improving weather inspiration will strike, too.

Over here we seemed to skip spring and gone straight from winter to summer, and I bet weather patterns have been a tad irregular in other places, too. So in case you might not feel too much into the summer wibes, let's keep the evergreen issue of FLORA as our second topic.
Now, what can we craft here?

Trees

flowers

pokémon...

cacti

plant-dolls

game vegetation

There is an abundance of inspiration at this time of the year - I'm pretty sure something will take your fancy.
Hello everyone!

I would like to show you the two dolls I've made recently: they're goddesses from a PC game series called "The Elder Scrolls".

The first one, Azura, is a goddess of dawn and dusk, she was ready about a year ago, but I wasn't too happy with her:

Took me a year to find all the necessary accessories and finaly make her look like she was meant to: I've replaced the roses, moon and star (they're her symbols in the games) and the eyes.

The second one is Mephala, the goddess of secrets, murder and sex:

She was made for my friend, who also loves those games, and makes her every character serve Mephala! :-D

I'm quite happy with these girls, and consider Mephala to be the best toy I've ever made ^_^ Friend was happy with the gift also.

I'm also glad to say that I have written a pattern for the female body used for these dolls, this is what it looks like:

The pattern is for sale on Etsy, an 8-page PDF with 12 pics of various stages:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/128892608/amigurumi-pattern-basic-female-body

Owl Amigurumi

I just finished making 5 owls from my own amigurumi pattern!

I think they came out super cute! My favorite has to be the Green and Purple one, though that Snowy one is a troublemaker!

Many many more pics on my blog http://awkwardsoul.wordpress.com/2013/04/03/owl-amigurumi-crochet-pattern-tea-mug-owls/
(I went overboard with pictures on my blog, but they photo so well!)

Which one is your favorite?

Pattern Search

I am not very good at free handing anything (yet) so I generally search for patterns for things I want to make. Recently my husband started playing a really old PSOne game that we both love called Lunar Silver Story and I really wanted to make some of the characters off of it but as of yet haven't found any crochet (or other) patterns for the game at all. I know its really old but I figured if there was any place to ask if anyone has or has seen a pattern for any of the characters from this game this is probably a good place to start.

So far I've tried general Google searches and Ravelry without any luck at all so if anyone has any ideas or knows where to find them I would be so grateful.

'NII' Jaejoong

This is my first time posting here, and I would love to share one of my giant dolls, Jaejoong. He was custom-made for a friend according to the photo (bottom left corner) she provided me. I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn't make the penguins. Instead, I posed him with a bear and an owlie I created beforehand. I'm a free-style crocheter and have been crocheting for about 2 years. I'm currently learning how to write patterns and hopefully push out a few for my animal amigurumi creations. ^__^

You could find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/swallowscreativecorner
Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/swallowtt

Also (not as frequently updated):
Deviantart: http://swallowtt.deviantart.com/
Blogspot: http://swallowtt.blogspot.com/

March/april ami-along

Hello and wellcome to yet another fine monthly

As you have already seen with the previous installment, we've decided to do bi-monthly themes, which leave you with ample amounts of time to finish your projects. (procastination time included) So what do we have here this month?

We've put our heads together, theknittycat and I, and came to the conclusion that since on our side of the globe it's the beginning of summer, and the annual festival celebrating the renewal of life is upon our doorsteps, that SPRINGTIME and EASTER should be the topic to inspire us all this March and April. So let's see some patterns! :D

Bunnies start to get active this time of the year, hopping aroound everywhere...
<a href="http://lovethebluebird.blogspot.hu/2012/04/spring-bunny-tutorial.html" Regardless of the weather outside, animals will remain cute - especially in some artists' translation to yarn.
Crab Amigurumi

I've been on a roll creating amigurumi patterns. My most recent: Crab!

I made two crabs, a "happy" crab and a "frowny" crab. My husband prefers the happy one but I think the frowny one is cuter! I don't know why, but frowny amigurumi most often looks cuter to me. Anyways, here's a pic of the happy one.

For more pictures, please visit my blog: http://awkwardsoul.wordpress.com/2013/02/26/cute-cute-crab-amigurumi-pattern/

/crab-walks off

Hi, this is my first time posting to this community but I wanted to share one that I just finished. My brother loves Calvin and Hobbes and so this is Hobbes in 'plushy' form.

Amigurumi Turtle

Hey all!

I created an amigurumi turtle pattern - I had lots of fun making these little turtles, though redoing the head a couple times kinda sucked.

More pictures on my blog http://awkwardsoul.wordpress.com/2013/02/11/turt-the-turtle-amigurumi-crochet-pattern/

Gryphons and Foxes

Hey guys! It's been a while and I've been busy geting some of my own creations made for the upcoming conventions I'll be selling my art at, and I thought I would share :)

First up are these little guys...gryphons! They're my favourite mythical creature and I'm offering them up as adoptables - Each gryphon has a matching egg that I make from polymer clay. When I sell these little guys, the customers only see what the egg looks like; the only clue as to what the gryphons look like, is that the egg's colour is the same colour as the gryphon. Otherwise, the gryphon itself is a complete surprise - no two gryphons are ever the same :) Some might have the same physical features, but they won't have the same colours. When I sell these online, I'll only post the pictures of the gryphon after it's been purchased and delivered to the customer, so that they're the first to see what their gryphon looks like :) At conventions, I plan on having a little basket with some Easter straw, to make it look like a nest, and pretty much the samething will happen - the customer will purchase it, pick out an egg, and then I'll present them with the matching gryphon :) Took me a while to figure out the pattern for these guys, but so happy they turned out so well :)

I've sold a few so far, just to test out the waters, and they seem to be doing well :) Here's a couple other pictures of what these little guys look like:

A friend of mine had told me that I should try making little foxes, they'd probably would be a good seller at the conventions this year, so I sat myself down and figured out a pattern for foxes, and these little guys are the result :)

I made the tails by crocheting a little strip, then attaching some yarn strands starting at the end with the white, then the rest in the body colour, then untwining each strand and fluffing it all up with a brush, resulting in a nice fluffy tail :) I plan on making some in natural colours, as well as some fun colours too :)

January/February ami-along themes are MINI and/or MAXI

Oops!! I forgot to post an ami-along for January! My apologies! With a bad case of post-holiday burn-out, I just totally forgot about it. :o(

So, since January is half over, I thought we'd make this a January/February ami-along. My previous post, sharing my love of Su Ami's and MUFFA's micro mini ami's, inspired me to suggest trying out a mini version of your favorite ami pattern. (Or any pattern, or your own design.) Smaller hooks or needles and finer yarn will give you a smaller version of your favorites! And if that doesn't appeal to you, how about a maxi version?! Go small or go large! ;o)

January/February ami-along themes are MINI and/or MAXI

MINI! (micro)

http://www.etsy.com/listing/82384466/tiniest-sock-monkey-micro-crocheted-sock
(Another of Su Ami's amazing creations)

and
MAXI!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/12928926@N06/2405660289/
(A fabulous giant sock monkey from our own snuffykin)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/12928926@N06/2405660637/

No need to get eye strain or hand cramps making a micro mini (though if you're brave, try it!), just a smaller version than you usually make might be fun. Or if you usually work tiny, try something larger. Just for fun! :o)

For more fabulous examples of micro mini amigurumi! please see my previous post. MUFFA has some patterns for her micro mini's here.

I'd love to see examples of your smallest ami's (and largest, too!), so please post ami's you've made previously as well as any you make now.

As always, the ami-along is just for fun and inspiration. There is no obligation to make something that falls in that category. Post everything you make, or have made, that you'd like to share! We love to see them all!

For a whole bunch more inspiration check out this blog I just came across! Wow! LOTS of FREE patterns!!
http://greatamigurumi.blogspot.com/

:o)

If you enjoy micro mini's, one of my favorite amigurumi designers of all time is MUFFA.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/pasubio9/

http://muffa-minis.blogspot.com/?m=0

etsy store
http://www.etsy.com/shop/MuffaMiniatures

She also creates amazing works of amigurumi in fingernail size. Again, Wow!

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vk3NS4QBb0A/UNNTRGpD5YI/AAAAAAAADsE/9rwXHQUEJbg/s1600/Yoda2.jpg

http://www.flickr.com/photos/pasubio9/8271842969/in/photostream

http://i560.photobucket.com/albums/ss48/muffaminis/simp/Kitty.jpg

http://muffa-minis.blogspot.com/2009/06/hellooo-kitty.html?m=0

http://www.flickr.com/photos/pasubio9/4281935244/in/photostream

How these incredible artists achieve these masterpieces is a mystery to me! But I love looking and marveling at their creations.

Have any of you dabbled in microminiature? My smallest creation was about 1/2" tall and 1" long, and was extremely simple!

Penny Surfing

http://www.flickr.com/photos/knittycat/2058237690

http://www.flickr.com/photos/knittycat/2058238372/

Some of my smallest creations (giants compared to Su Ami's and MUFFA's) are here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/knittycat/sets/72157603273660274/with/2058238372/

I hope you all enjoy seeing these adorable works, by these two amazing artists, as much as I do!
