Hello! This time we made a rhinestone tiger amigurumi! It took forever to glue on all the rhinestones one by one...I'm not sure if I want to do it again, but it came out okay I guess. I'll probably end up doing another one in the future...sometime.

Welcome, dear fellow craftsters, to yet another

As the months roll by, the seasons change, too. To honor this, our monthly theme is SUMMER FOODS! Let's have a look at what yummies we can yarnify in these hot, hot months.

Hello everyone!

I would like to show you the two dolls I've made recently: they're goddesses from a PC game series called "The Elder Scrolls".

The first one, Azura, is a goddess of dawn and dusk, she was ready about a year ago, but I wasn't too happy with her:

Took me a year to find all the necessary accessories and finaly make her look like she was meant to: I've replaced the roses, moon and star (they're her symbols in the games) and the eyes.

The second one is Mephala, the goddess of secrets, murder and sex:

She was made for my friend, who also loves those games, and makes her every character serve Mephala! :-D

I'm quite happy with these girls, and consider Mephala to be the best toy I've ever made ^_^ Friend was happy with the gift also.

I'm also glad to say that I have written a pattern for the female body used for these dolls, this is what it looks like:

I just finished making 5 owls from my own amigurumi pattern!

I think they came out super cute! My favorite has to be the Green and Purple one, though that Snowy one is a troublemaker!

Hi, it's me again. XD Meet Takumi lion and Giichi bear. These are my own designs and creations.

This is Nyanko Sensei Madara modeled after the cat in 'Natsume Yuujinchou'. I used a photo from the web as reference and added the fish. ^__^ This was made for Miky to cheer her up.

Pattern Search

I am not very good at free handing anything (yet) so I generally search for patterns for things I want to make. Recently my husband started playing a really old PSOne game that we both love called Lunar Silver Story and I really wanted to make some of the characters off of it but as of yet haven't found any crochet (or other) patterns for the game at all. I know its really old but I figured if there was any place to ask if anyone has or has seen a pattern for any of the characters from this game this is probably a good place to start.

So far I've tried general Google searches and Ravelry without any luck at all so if anyone has any ideas or knows where to find them I would be so grateful.

This is my first time posting here, and I would love to share one of my giant dolls, Jaejoong. He was custom-made for a friend according to the photo (bottom left corner) she provided me. I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn't make the penguins. Instead, I posed him with a bear and an owlie I created beforehand. I'm a free-style crocheter and have been crocheting for about 2 years. I'm currently learning how to write patterns and hopefully push out a few for my animal amigurumi creations. ^__^

March/april ami-along

Hello and wellcome to yet another fine monthly

As you have already seen with the previous installment, we've decided to do bi-monthly themes, which leave you with ample amounts of time to finish your projects. (procastination time included) So what do we have here this month?

We've put our heads together, theknittycat and I, and came to the conclusion that since on our side of the globe it's the beginning of summer, and the annual festival celebrating the renewal of life is upon our doorsteps, that SPRINGTIME and EASTER should be the topic to inspire us all this March and April.So let's see some patterns! :D

Bunnies start to get active this time of the year, hopping aroound everywhere...

birds return from their winter holiday, bringing songs galore for us

the vegetation starts to grow....

trees start to grow leaves

You can see more and more snails as the weatehr imporves...

and if you have good eyes - and luck - you can also spot beautiful fishies in the ponds

And young animals frolic around wherever you look :)

Besides the usual symbols fo spring,like flowers and young animals, we could also desing an ami in spring colors, wearing a nice flowery dress... the possibilities are endless.

But for those of you who find this topic less inspiring than necessary to cast on and craft away, FOREST FRIENDS might provide an intriguing alternative. Regardless of the weather outside, animals will remain cute - especially in some artists' translation to yarn. Let's have a look at some nice examples.

Crab Amigurumi

I've been on a roll creating amigurumi patterns. My most recent: Crab!

I made two crabs, a "happy" crab and a "frowny" crab. My husband prefers the happy one but I think the frowny one is cuter! I don't know why, but frowny amigurumi most often looks cuter to me. Anyways, here's a pic of the happy one.

Gryphons and Foxes

Hey guys! It's been a while and I've been busy geting some of my own creations made for the upcoming conventions I'll be selling my art at, and I thought I would share :)

First up are these little guys...gryphons! They're my favourite mythical creature and I'm offering them up as adoptables - Each gryphon has a matching egg that I make from polymer clay. When I sell these little guys, the customers only see what the egg looks like; the only clue as to what the gryphons look like, is that the egg's colour is the same colour as the gryphon. Otherwise, the gryphon itself is a complete surprise - no two gryphons are ever the same :) Some might have the same physical features, but they won't have the same colours. When I sell these online, I'll only post the pictures of the gryphon after it's been purchased and delivered to the customer, so that they're the first to see what their gryphon looks like :) At conventions, I plan on having a little basket with some Easter straw, to make it look like a nest, and pretty much the samething will happen - the customer will purchase it, pick out an egg, and then I'll present them with the matching gryphon :) Took me a while to figure out the pattern for these guys, but so happy they turned out so well :)

I've sold a few so far, just to test out the waters, and they seem to be doing well :) Here's a couple other pictures of what these little guys look like:

A friend of mine had told me that I should try making little foxes, they'd probably would be a good seller at the conventions this year, so I sat myself down and figured out a pattern for foxes, and these little guys are the result :)

I made the tails by crocheting a little strip, then attaching some yarn strands starting at the end with the white, then the rest in the body colour, then untwining each strand and fluffing it all up with a brush, resulting in a nice fluffy tail :) I plan on making some in natural colours, as well as some fun colours too :)

January/February ami-along themes are MINI and/or MAXI

Oops!! I forgot to post an ami-along for January! My apologies! With a bad case of post-holiday burn-out, I just totally forgot about it. :o(

So, since January is half over, I thought we'd make this a January/February ami-along. My previous post, sharing my love of Su Ami's and MUFFA's micro mini ami's, inspired me to suggest trying out a mini version of your favorite ami pattern. (Or any pattern, or your own design.) Smaller hooks or needles and finer yarn will give you a smaller version of your favorites! And if that doesn't appeal to you, how about a maxi version?! Go small or go large! ;o)

No need to get eye strain or hand cramps making a micro mini (though if you're brave, try it!), just a smaller version than you usually make might be fun. Or if you usually work tiny, try something larger. Just for fun! :o)

How these incredible artists achieve these masterpieces is a mystery to me! But I love looking and marveling at their creations.

Have any of you dabbled in microminiature? My smallest creation was about 1/2" tall and 1" long, and was extremely simple!
