This dragon is based on the "Hai-Ryo" pattern from Nicky Epstein's "Knitting on Top of the World: The Global Guide to Traditions, Techniques and Design"" (I say "based"; since I had to alter it a bit to get it to come out. I used what yarns I had available to me instead of whatwas recommended and changes had to be made to get it to work.)The book had a chapter on Japan which of course was centered on amigurumi.; This is supposed to a New Year's dragon inspired piece. I hope this will be the firstof many dragon amigurumi projects. It's hard to find a dragon design that isn't too floppy but I've got my eye on some patterns on etsy and for free on the net.
