I made these about a week ago... And I'm uber proud of them.

And random really-close-up close up...

My friends Jaymee and Stephanie took one each, and I had one left, so I ended up making another, and now I have two clipped on my purse. :)
BTW: How do you pronounce amigurumi anyway? Hehe I can hardly even spell it.

Hee thanks for asking the pronunciation question, because its one of those words I read or type, but never had the occasion (yet) to speak!
The fortune cookies came out soo cute! I'm such a newb with visually constructing a pattern, so may I ask your method of making these? Only if you're willing to share of course =)

Thank youuu!! Actually, it was really easy. I made a simple circle... ch 2, 6 sc's in 2nd ch from hook, then 2 scs in each sc, and in the next row I did 1 sc in the first sc, then 2 sc's in the next, all the way around.. Then 1 sc in the next 2 sc's, and then 2 sc's in the next sc, all the way around... Until you complete a round that has 1 sc in the next five sc's, and then two sc's in the next sc. I hope that makes sense. You could make it bigger or smaller if you want.
Then fold it like they do in this video...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=P0Wmm6DX8qA
Then sew it so it stays in place, but don't sew the outer edges together yet, if that makes sense.
Then make a faux piece of paper for the fortune inside. They crochet a little strip in the video, but I just took some white felt, cut out a short strip, embroidered some words and a little star on it, then cut another piece of felt the same size as the other, and sewed that one the back of the other, so all the ends of the thread didn't show. But, do whatever you'd prefer to do. I stuck it in the fortune cookie and let it peek out a bit, and then sewed the outer edge of the fortune cookie AND the fortune in place.
I hope that helps, and it wasn't that difficult to follow. :)

I think I can follow, and I appreciate your time to explain! I have aspirations to become a regular swapper at http://www.swap-bot.com/ and think these would be a great little 'extra' to sneak in to mailings, plus I love fortune cookies (to eat too) =)

And heh I love making my own (real) fortune cookies.

btw, I'm also 15, but no one I know, knows how to crochet either. :P

Hehe yay I feel less alone.
Oh, and nice icon. I just totally blanked out and can't remember the artist's name, but I like the drawings he does.

Heh I've gotten a few comments about how dorky crocheting is, but I just ignore them. And some of my friends have attempted it because of me. It'd be cool if more people my age would get into it.
