June ami-along is PETS and PICNIC FOOD
[info]legendancer
Welcome, once again, to a new month of

This month our topic is
PETS )

This is the best time for a nice PICNIC, don't you think? the weather is nice, the flowers are in bloom, everything just throbbing with life... at such times one should break out from the confines of the walls and head into a green patch. And perhaps prank their picnic buddies with some crochet food? :D
Here's something for the menu. )
I hope you will find this post as inspiring as I did. I still want to finish my tree, though. :S

Snoopy
[info]chiwaluv

A friend of mine  was searching for a great knit pattern to make a Snoopy dog for her grandchild, after both of us searching and failing to find a nice one , I worked  up this version using a great little pattern by Abigail Originals, it is called  Spot the dog and Puppies and you may get a copy here:http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spot-the-dog--puppies
I did modify the feet a wee bit, and made the ears a bit smaller length wise.

Over all , it is a really great pattern, and worked up nicely don't you think? Snoopy sets at about 12 inches tall.

Free African Violets Pattern for Mother's Day!
[info]theknittycat

mothersday comments, mothersday graphics

It's been ages since I've posted (or commented on your brilliant creations, I'm sorry to say), I've had so many ami's to make, but finally I'm getting something up here!  Yay!  And a pattern too!!  WooHOO!  I'm on a roll!  ;o)

No Water No Worries African Violets

Happy Mother's Day to all!
I wanted to make an African Violet for my sister for Mother's Day, remembering how much I used to enjoy growing them.  They're a bit fussy as to moisture and light needs, so they aren't the easiest plant to grow successfully and I thought that a nice knit one would be a great substitute for her.  :o)   No worries about watering or humidity or feeding or how much light it gets. Yay!

(cross posted to my blog www.theknittycat.blogspot.com)

My dear friend, who also loves to knit (check out her creations here www.chiwaluv.blogspot.com), liked my wee plant so much that she wanted to make one of her own, so I wrote up this pattern for her, while I still remembered what I did and while I still had the plant, so I could count rounds and stitches.  And as a nice Mother's Day surprise, thanks to my friend, you all get to have the pattern too - so you can all have African Violets on your windowsills, or wherever you'd like to have them!  :o)
No water, no worries!  Yay!

my little (d)evil
[info]legendancer
I've been having a mean streak of bad luck lately, and I couldn't fathom why. Then, all of a sudden, I spot a purple shadow on the periphery of my vision. I whip around, lashing my hands on whatever's invading my privacy -
and looky whom I got here. )

May ami-along: revisiting our roots
[info]legendancer
To all of our dear readers, welcome to a new month of

On this wonderful day let's not only celebrate love and labour, but also start a month of memorandum. Let us remember where we've come from, what our starting point was, inspiring us with the plethorra of amazing yarncraft condensed into one small country. Yes, I'm talking about JAPAN and its wonderful gift to us all, amigurumi.
Let's revisit our roots! )
I hope everyone finds something to their liking this month. But the most important is: have fun!

Owl Bear & Boomkin Amigurumi
Shannon rocker
[info]charissa

I wanted to show a crochet pattern I created - Owl Bear, which could be modded to have different owl bear looks or even into a Moonkin from WOW. Well, a squishy cute version.

I got a few more pics of them on my blog: http://awkwardsoul.wordpress.com/2012/04/25/owl-bears-and-beasts-oh-my/

My husband and his friends play Dungeons & Dragons, but I'm very new to it. He was giving me ideas for other creatures to make (as well as his friends) and they keep saying I need to do an “Invisible Stalker” or whatever it is called. I google it and feel like a dummy. Out-geeked indeed.

I have a large blue totoro in the making but with so little spare time to crochet, I haven't been able to finish him (I get so depressed when I don't have time for crafting!), so I made a little white totoro from heavens_hellcat's pattern.

Technically he isn't finished because I haven't made his feet because I can't make them come out right! I know a lot of people have made this same amigurumi using the same pattern and I'm wondering what kind of yarn you used - I think the weight of the yarn I've been using is too light.
